Lindsey's Perpetual Pathos

It's all over. Anyone in Washington who still thinks that he or she will be able to exploit the embassy attacks of last year for cheap and easy political purposes will have a better time of it trying to squeeze chocolate milk out of a rock.

The final nail in the Benghazi junkies' coffin was the revelation that 60 Minutes' reporting of that tragedy had been bogus. they had been led down the garden path by some jackal named "Morgan Jones" (probably an alias). The story he told CBS News about warning American officials of imminent attack and being ignored was completely at odds with what he told the FBI shortly after the events. The Republicans in congress based their entire Benghazi fixation on this one report and now it turns out to be complete and utter bullshit.

Cronkite and Murrow, 1952
When I was a kid (in my household at least) whenever a major story broke, you went to CBS News no questions asked. Back in the day, that organization was known as "the diamond of  the Tiffany Network". Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end; but end they certainly did. That rumbling that you can hear in the faint distance is the sound of Edward R. Murrow, Eric Sevareid and Walter Cronkite doing somersaults in their graves.

None of these revelations mean a damned thing to Lindsey Graham. He's determined to continue to obstruct President Obama's nominee to head the department of Homeland Security - among others. According to Gail Collins' excellent column in today's New York Times:

"His righteous wrath was not shaken in the least when 'Morgan's' story turned out to be entirely made up. Perhaps Graham was recalling the immortal words of Mia Farrow in an old Woody Allen Movie: 'He's fictional, but you can't have everything.'"

Poor old Lindsey obviously doesn't have much of a stomach for non-fiction these days. That seems to be a chronic state as far as the right wing is concerned. They live in a fantasy world dominated by fear and loathing. It must be a dark and dreadful place. I wouldn't gladly trade places with them, that's for sure. My own world is weird enough thank you very much
`
Lindsey Graham is a walking, talking spectacle. Does he ever look at a history book - or even a filmed historical documentary? Has he ever had a chance to see the judgment posterity imparts upon the bloviating gas-bags and dingbats of a bygone era and how they are viewed through the prism of 20/20, historical hindsight as clowns and buffoons? Has the senator from South Carolina ever considered the foregone conclusion that this is the way that future generations will view him?

Taney
I'm going to let all of you in on a dark family secret of mine: I am related to Roger B. Taney, the Chief Justice who wrote the Dred Scott decision in 1857 - the worst Supreme Court ruling in the history of this republic. This is a fact that me and my kin don't go around cheerfully bragging about - trust me on this one, folks. That awful decision gave individual African Americans about as much rights as a head of cattle. It's almost certain that it would have perpetuated slavery well-into the twentieth century had the Civil War not intervened. That  ruling (and Cousin Roger's authorship of it) renders him just about the worst Justice in the history of the court. Check out that photograph of him on the left. He just looks like a complete asshole!

`
Does Lindsey Graham think for a minute that his heirs will be boasting of their familial ties to a screaming twit like himself? You gotta wonder. You just gotta!

I have high hopes for poor old Lindsey. In a rogue's gallery of screaming fools and drooling buffoons he's always good copy. Lord knows Barack Obama is far from perfect. Expecting Superman when he was elected five-years-ago this month, all I got was a well-meaning Casper Milquetoast. Still, you've got to envy the guy. Given the personal qualities of the jackasses who have done everything they can in order to obstruct his path to progress, he'll end up looking pretty good in the history books without even trying. This president has got to be the luckiest politician who ever walked this earth.

Some people are alarmed by the utter catastrophe that American politics has become in the last thirty years. Not me. In fact I thrive on it. It's all-the-more interesting the weirder it gets. I can't get enough of this stuff. Thanks in large part to politicians like Lindsey Graham, I'm as happy as I think I've ever been.

Sail on, oh ship of state.

Good night, my love,

Good night, my love

Goodnight, My Love

In 1936, at the tender age of nineteen, Ella Fitzgerald had the joy and the wisdom of the angels in her young voice. It would only get better down through the decades. Who would have dared to dream, in that time and place, that such a thing was even remotely possible?

Good night, Ella. I hope you're sleeping well, my love.

Looks like CBS did half of the GOP's job for them this time. Usually when they can't attack somthing for what it REALLY is, they make up a fake version and attack THAT (See Obama, the ACA)
Graham should come out and retract what he said and apologize. Any odd that THAT will happen?

I wonder why the FBI is ok with Congress talking to the people at the mission but the White House isn't?

"WASHINGTON (AP) — FBI Director James Comey told senators Thursday he is not opposed to Congress speaking with the survivors of the 2012 attack on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya. That contradicts the Obama administration's position that such discussions would jeopardize the FBI's criminal case."

Is the White House trying to cover up another lie?

Has the White House responded to this? They said no contact a LONG TOME AGO, but now if the FBI wants to talk to them, how do you know the WH is STILL opposed?

"SAN DIEGO — “60 Minutes” should not have thrown out its report on Benghazi with the bath water.

Reporters and producers at the CBS newsmagazine made mistakes in putting together a story about last year’s attack on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Libya, and the story has been retracted.

But they also got a few things right, highlighting important information that raises serious questions about whether the attack — which resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens — could have been predicted and prevented. These questions undermine the Obama administration’s narrative in the days following the attack that this was a spontaneous outburst sparked by outrage over an anti-Muslim video."

Mozart,

Better read my post again.
I did not say the FBI wanted to talk any one.
I said they were ok with witness talking to Congress. But the White House still opposed those witness from talking to Congress.

Don't you wonder why, since the FBI is doing an investigation & they are ok with it, but the White House which is now the home to a proven and well know liar would not allow the testimony?
What, if anything, is the White House hiding?

Since neither you nor I know the entire story behind this, it's clear you are just looking for a scandal since the IRS and Obama's birth certificate didn't pan out for you. As long as we are asking questioins, why was more money spent to investigate Clinton's sex life than on the 9-11 investigation?

Why didn't the Dems, when they held both Houses of Congress in the first two years of Obama administration, do an investigation on Bush/Cheney and Iraq? Maybe there should be an investigation on that?

How is anything clear to you when you are not able to correctly read and understand my post? Wouldn't it make sense to do the investigation because, as you said, neither of us know the entire story behind this? And thanks for bringing up Clinton, another democrat President who is a known, proven liar.

William Wallace, how is anything clear tp you when you are living in the middle of the conservative bubble and no facts can get in? Why didn't the Dems do an investigation? Well first of all the right would have pounded them into the ground for it for being "petty", and also the GOP would have fillibustered any action anyway. Obama was the bigger man and wanted to spend HIS time moving the country FORWARD. Besides, Daddy Bush is CIA Director (you never leave "the company") You honestly think Obama or any Dem congressman survives?(politically or otherwise) Look what happened to Dan Rather for just telling the TRUTH about Dubya's military service!

Also I notice you didn't agree that Bush lied and people DIED! Why does Bush get a pass for the deaths of a million people or more, but Clinton is evil over a blowjob and Obama is Satan because there were more worthless policies that couldn't pass the test than they anticipated? NOW he's trying to accomodate THOSE people and he's getting attacked by the right for THAT.

The standard was set by the late Tom Foley (d) "Well, we don't have any evidence of this, but the seriousness of the charge requires us to investigate it" Great excuse, but a FAIL.

2. "GOP would have fillibustered any action anyway." False, how could the GOP filibuster a House committee hearing or investigation? They couldn't. If they could then why aren't the Dem's use a filibuster NOW to stop the House investigation on what happened at Benghazi, or the actions of the IRS? Last time I looked the GOP is NOT the majority party in the Senate. Right? Yet this thread is about how a GOP Senator is wasting his time with a Senate investigation into Benghazi! FAIL

3. "Besides, Daddy Bush is CIA Director" INSANE GRASPING AT STRAWS! Do you also believe that 9-11 was an inside job, that there black helicopters watching you and that Bush senior flew in a Blackbird to Europe to meet with Iranian leaders before the Regan election?

Going to stop now because it is painful to watch the left trying to find something to end the focus on their failed policy's.

The best way to get away with a crim is to ridicule those who try expose it. Why was Bush sent to Florida and then told to sit doing nothing for 7 minutes while the nation was under attack? Where are the 80+ security camera tapes from around the Pentagon that would have shown the ALLEGED plane in flight? They were confiscated and classified by the Bush administratin. WHERE ARE THEY?

Why didn't the Dems follow Foley's ground breaking instructions to investigate BUSH cause while you have no don't "evidence of this, but the seriousness of the charge requires us to investigate." Classic. Pure hypocrisy, cant wait to read you next excuses.

Get the most dishonest, but transparently so, President in the history of our country to release all that you claim to be still under lock and key. Now's your chance man, do away with the rumor and get the facts! Obama, after all, told us "Yes we can!!"
And you believed him,(FOOL) and he still has 3 years left to expose the real truth about the Bush Chaney lies. And we can drag them through the streets and then tar and feather them and then put them on the rack,, OOOEEE how much fun that would be?
Obama is looking for something, anything to distract the nation from his failures and lies, how about dragging out the info to prove in a fricking trial that Bush lied and get all the answers you listed? If I believed as strongly as you do that's what I'd be doing. Wonder why you are not?
I'd be demanding AG Holder form a federal grand jury and do their thing on Bush. You know, AG Holder who finds a racist behind every American flag. Where are you on demanding that, mouth breathing liberal?

Our liar in the White House has the power to do all this, he doesn't need Congress, he doesn't need the Courts, he can issue an Executive Order. It's worked every time in the past for him.

President Obama does not need my help to be the most deceitful, lying President in our history. He is doing that quite well on his own. You just can't admit it.

The Business Plot was an alleged political conspiracy in 1933. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler claimed that wealthy businessmen were plotting to create a fascist veterans' organization and use it in a coup d'état to overthrow President of the United States Franklin D. Roosevelt, with Butler as leader of that organization. In 1934, Butler testified to the Special Committee on Un-American Activities Congressional committee (the "McCormack-Dickstein Committee") on these claims.[1] In the opinion of the committee, these allegations were credible.[2] No one was prosecuted.

While historians have questioned whether or not a coup was actually close to execution, most agree that some sort of "wild scheme" was contemplated and discussed.[2][3][4][5][6] Contemporaneous media dismissed the plot, with a New York Times editorial characterizing it as a "gigantic hoax".[7]

And Obama used to hang with Bill Ayers house.
And Bill Ayers is known for his 1960s radical activism as well as his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969 he co-founded the Weather Underground, a self-described communist revolutionary group[2] that conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings (including police stations, the U.S. Capitol Building, and the Pentagon) during the 1960s and 1970s in response to U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War.
Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972, as he noted in his 2001 book, Fugitive Days.

Students at historically black college complain Obamacare has left them uninsured. Students at Bowie State University assailed the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on Thursday after administrators cancelled a low cost school-wide health care plan due to new regulations in the law.

OMG, they are blaming the black guy! Does this means they are RACIST? We wont know until our resident expert on what is racist and what it not, gives us a final declaration. Back to you Dubya.

BTW Dubya, why did the President seal your military records? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Not really. HE took us to war based on HIS lies. That is self-evident.

We know of you inability to process information outside your bubble, but I addressed this.

Fact: Bush alone ordered Americans to their deaths for his lies. Fact: He is to blame.

Is that complicated?

Democrats are to blame for abetting and letting him get away with it.

Does that work for you?

As I said per your, "If Bush lied":

That's not an "if" sport, unless you can show us those "nukular" aluminum tubes, "biological labs", connections to al-qaeda and unmanned drones.

I'm not saying you're racist, just pointing out the real possibility. After all, you do HATE the Black Guy for offenses that pale when compared to Bush.

Ah, yes, that is also true.

I used to believe in American Exceptionalism, and it was with great sorrow that I had to admit that while at one time there was something about this nation to be proud of, those things are no longer true, and that the people that made them true are dying and being replaced with bottom feeding Free Stuff people that do not have The Right Stuff.

What finally opened by eyes was how the Democrats transformed Freddie Mac Fannie Mae with "It is Racism to deny anyone a mortgage for a home, everyone deserves a home in the name of Affordable Housing. Let everyone pick out the home they want. No credit check is needed as that is Racism. As long as us Democrats are in power us Democrats will make sure the Taxpayer can afford these homes. We will simply loot the Taxpayer to pay for these homes. It would be Racist to not do so." The fact that the Democrat Media was able to cover this up and blame Bush for it is stand alone evidence that this nation is on balance a nation of stupid immoral Lie Gobbling People, who have zero respect for The Truth, only Perceptions matter.

When you have CBS, NBC, ABC, The Washington Post, The NY Times, ....everything but Fox and Talk Radio, combined with a stupid dependent immoral American People, that is sufficient evidence to conclude that this nation is over as its people are over. You cannot replace a failed American People. A people that re-elects the worst president in its history, that is fatal, that is not fixable. When all single girls vote for Obama for Free Birth Control due to some phony "War on Women" one can only conclude Depravity and Venality. Not fixable. Failed, immoral.

A people who vote for Lies and Free Stuff have no qualities to be admired. They deserve nothing but scorn.

The DemocRATS brought this travesty onto themselves and the American public. Let them reap what they have sown.

The DemocRATS are now trying to blame the GOP for Obamacare's failure. You just can't make this stuff up.

Watching the DemoCRATS crap their pants and flip flop on ObamaCare now that they are running for reelection really shows how spineless they are.

Why do I suspect that blogging is the only way Dave Dubya can deal with his frustration at the demise both of the President as a trusted leader, and of the President's signature "achievement"? In the end too many liberals will fall back on race as the explanation for anything political which doesn't go their way.

How's this for cognitive dissonance, Dave Dubya - I think Obamacare as it works in the real (not ideal) world is an abomination. Why don't you admit it? - Obamacare is a failure not because Mr. Obama is black, but because it was shoved down the throats of Congress and the American people by Philosopher-Kings with little knowledge of - or care - for the inevitable unintended consequences of their folly.

How a black man as yourself can blame Obama's problems on racism or Bush truly baffles the mind.

Tony,

You cannot possibly understand where I come from if you can't comprehend the fact I agree with Ron Paul saying, "Obama is a corporatist".

Obamacare is a Republican style corporatist plan conjured at Heritage Foundation and implemented by Romney.

Liberals suggest Medicare for all as the cheaper sane and compassionate alternative. All evidence supports this.

Liberals were "not at the table" for healthcare reform. Insurance companies were. Corpo-dems added GOP demands to the plan in the false hope of bipartisanship.

Better blame the Black Guy and liberals, though, just like your cult bubble demands.

Want to compare Bush's lies, body count and market collapse with Obama's record, sport?

The answer to "Why do I suspect..." is you need to hold others to your predetermined prejudiced image of who they are, instead of to their actual words and actions.

You cult is one of wild-eyed extremists who think liberals are destroying America, even though only corporatists are allowed in the White House and liberals are ignored on nearly every issue except maybe equal rights.

But you hate liberals for that too.

And it is true. Republicans excluded themselves, remember? Or is "messiah" all you remember from your cult bubble?

Republicans were too busy holding posters of Obama the witch doctor and shouting, "You lie!" and promising their priority was to keep Obama a one term president. They had no interest in in actually assisting in government.

Once the Black Guy accepted GOP ideas, the GOP opposed him. Why? See above.

Now we know what happens when Democrats listen to Republicans.
Nobody listened to liberals, did they?

Obamacare's hidden parentage

ON THE surface, it looks totally partisan. Not a single Republican voted for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, aka "Obamacare". But the law is filled with concessions to them.

So much so that when one posts they wish we had picked our own cotton instead of instituting slavery, he declares that saying is racist. One would think that if there had been no slaves brought here to pick cotton, the blacks in America today would be so much better off, so not discriminated against, so much more happy and rich, because they would be living in Africa! The black Americans would not be under the thumb of rich, race hating white conservative men. They would not be experiencing double digit unemployment and sub standard education, health care concerns and no opportunity. How can you not wish white America had picked their own cotton and not brought Africans here as slaves?

Somewhere deep in the mind of President Barack Obama, way back where it's safe and warm, the man must be seeking refuge in memories of happier days when people like Chris Matthews, Tom Degan, and Dave Dubya got intense tingles in their loins everytime he gave a speech. Yes We Can Obama, Yes We Can the above would chant in unison with their hopium colored glasses!

Days when he could easily wield magical powers like the political messiah he once was, feeding the multitudes with his rhetoric, bringing Hopium-smoking journalists and progressive bloggers to tingles and tears.

All the man had to do was hold out his hands to stop the oceans like Moses. He said so.

"I am absolutely certain that generations from now," he said the night he won the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2008, "we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal."

He who could heal the planet and stop the oceans must be a man who could control one-sixth of the American economy and impose Obamacare on us whether we wanted it or not.

But it didn't turn out that way, did it? How could someone control one-sixth of the American economy when he has no experience and probably couldn't run a McDonalds?

Hubris has a way of ruining grand designs. And like reality, it bites.

So last week the Obama presidency began crumbling. Even Bill Clinton, rock star of the 2012 Democratic National Convention, piled on and kicked Obama in the balls, possibly in retaliation for Obama saying he can only stand Bill Clinton 'in doses' that was recently revealed in a new New York Times bestseller.

Some may be disappointed, and may see him in heroic terms, withering like a character in an ancient tragedy. Oh how people like Chris Matthews, Tom Degan, and Dave Dubya are now gnashing their teeth knowing that their super hero is nothing but a phony like the man behind the curtain in the Wizard of Oz.

He's in charge, who would you recommend we blame? Someone not the President?

Students at Bowie State University blame the black guy for their losing their health care insurance because of Obama Care. Who should they be blaming, the 25 elected DEMS. that someone listed with their lies about how wonderful the ACA was going to be? Blame them?

Funny, but the person who brought up Benghazi is the owner of this blog. So if you are pissed about Benghazi being talked about, blame him Dave, cause it's his blog.

This has been a great exchange. We found out from Mozart, that FDR was a liar and that his lie cost millions of Americans their lives.
We learned that Dave Dubya has his military records sealed by Daddy Bush. We have found out that Dave Dubya isn't sure if he is against bringing Africans to the USA to pick cotton as slaves instead of the plantation owners doing it themselves. I guess he thinks Africans are better off in a race hating American than in Africa. Naah, nothing could be that awful Or maybe he's ok with slavery?

I'll go on the record, I wish the farmers and plantation owners had picked their own cotton. Because I am against slavery and the kidnapping of blacks from Africa to be brought here and sold to pick cotton. I support the results of the Civil War that was fought to end slavery! And I am a conservative.

And we learned that the Dems are to blame for GWB getting away with lying about Iraq because they have not investigated his actions. And that the charges are serious enough to demand an investigation.

Well Done Tom!

Hope Obama care leaves me with some change.

Young Americans are now being woken from dreams of healthcare nirvana, to discover the nightmare that awaits them by the realities of Obamacare.

San Diego State University student Emily Yavitch describes her classmates’ reactions during a meeting with Affordable Care Act promoters, who recently went to the school:

Affordable Care Act promoters are visiting public universities across the state of California, and recently they stopped by San Diego State University, where the 60 or so students who attended their forum learned some interesting facts and advice about health care and Obamacare, some of which they weren’t too pleased to discover.

Here’s what went down:

1. If students make a low enough amount of money, the representatives said they would prefer – and in fact encouraged – enrollment in Medi-Cal as opposed to paying for a private plan. Otherwise one cannot qualify for subsidies. And what a tragedy that would be, to have to actually pay for something.

2. And it turns out, they do have to pay for some things. Students will now have to pay insurance fees in addition to the health center fees tacked onto most college’s student fees. So much for the Affordable Care Act relieving students’ financial strain.

3. The determinant of what sort of plan you qualify for is all based on income (not silly things like age, sex or preexisting conditions). For students struggling to pay for college, they learned that financial aid counts as part of income. So getting the money to help pay for college can ultimately determine that a student does not qualify for as many subsidies, so must bear the burden of health insurance independently. That visibly upset a few people in the room.

4. People may only change their insurance plan once a year. Under the current system, a person with a private plan can switch their insurance every month if they are so inclined. But under the new law, except for this year when the enrollment period is extended, people can only get insurance in the seven-week enrollment period. Which means if someone neglects to get insurance, they go without it for a year (which seems to fly in the face of the intended purpose of the law, which was to insure every single American.)

The knowledge they would not necessarily be able to have the same doctor, and that there would be a penalty for not buying insurance, was news (and not the welcome kind) to many students.

Students also appeared to be distressed to learn that there would be a cost of this panacea government-subsidized health care in the form of copays. Some said they were under the impression that everything would be “covered” (exactly where they imagine this money to cover everything is coming from, I do not know.)

Truth, it works every time.
PERIOD!!

This nitwit cant imagine with the track record of this Administration when it comes to being truthful and honest that this could be a true story. No never.

"In the home stretch of the 2012 presidential campaign, from August to September, the unemployment rate fell sharply — raising eyebrows from Wall Street to Washington.

The decline — from 8.1 percent in August to 7.8 percent in September — might not have been all it seemed. The numbers, according to a reliable source, were manipulated.

And the Census Bureau, which does the unemployment survey, knew it.

Just two years before the presidential election, the Census Bureau had caught an employee fabricating data that went into the unemployment report, which is one of the most closely watched measures of the economy.

And a knowledgeable source says the deception went beyond that one employee — that it escalated at the time President Obama was seeking reelection in 2012 and continues today.

“He’s not the only one,” said the source, who asked to remain anonymous for now but is willing to talk with the Labor Department and Congress if asked.

The Census employee caught faking the results is Julius Buckmon, according to confidential Census documents obtained by The Post. Buckmon told me in an interview this past weekend that he was told to make up information by higher-ups at Census."

And we should believe a word Obama tells us about Benghazi?

Not only did Obama lie about keeping your plan, but he is also lying now, about cancellations affecting only about 5% of those insured.

He knew in 2010 even, that most employer insurance plans, not just the individual market plans, would be cancelled. Because Obama delayed the employer mandate (which delay was lawless and unconstitutional), he delayed those looming cancellations until the end of next year.

At the very time in the last few weeks, when Obama was arguing to us that the cancellations would only be affecting a small number or 5%, his Department of Justice was telling the federal court that most of the EMPLOYER POLICIES WOULD BE GOING AWAY.
